Nona asked:
I'm thinking of buying a 2005 Suzuki GSX-R 600 and have had trouble finding insurance below 5k! I'm 22 and have just gotten my full license although I have ridden bikes on a provisional previously. But mainly un-insured as no-one would insure me (shhhh...) but I've become more responsible since then so I need insurance! A friend of a friend has got an R6 and he pays 900£ - how can that be, he's only 20?!
What insurance company offers best prices? I've tried Carole Nash & Quinn Direct, none of which would quote. CompareTheMarket also but only got three quotes at 5250£.
What sort of training can I complete to drive prices down even further?
Any advice is much appreciated.

I'm with Dimo on this one,.... the reality is you are in that age group that does not have the best record of responsible actions on bikes, AND the bike you have is in a group that is highly coveted for replacement parts from the previously mentioned group that needs parts. Its a vicious prescription pills online cycle. (no pun intended) In the U.S. one can take Defensive Driving and get 10% discount for 5 years. Is there any chance you could be added to a parents policy or perhaps simply tack on the bike to your car policy. If you have a policy on your house and car your agent can get a sizeable discount for bundling it all together. Time is your best friend or your worst enemy...
