That's one explanation for low rates in areas where you can see for yourself that most residence are horrible drivers. There are a few companies that only base their rates on your actual driving record, age and model of vehicle. If you go to Cure Auto Insurance, drivewell.com, for example, they'll only ask about your driving record. I've only recently started seeing ads & checked out this company, so I don't know if there across the Atlantic yet. In any case, I have credit, so I know for a fact the rate will be high if they ask for my Social(ist) (In)security number, income, etc. And I don't give my real name on the quote, either.
