General advice on nash motorbike insurance?

George asked:

im looing at trading my honda hornet 600 in soon and getting a GSXR-600. i been doing a few insurance quotes with tesco compare and confused.com cause they say they search bennetts, cia carol nash etc but the cheapest one coming up is a company called simply insurance. all the rest want about 1400-3000k but this insurance company wants 850 fully comp with 1 years no claims. I have had a look at the company and they are regulated by the FSA. They have been running for approx 10-15 years and this company was the cheapest on both websites. i would like any views into what you think. i have also looked at the policy and spoken to them and it has everything i want like any insurance policy they only cover the bike for the market value if anything was to happen to it etc etc. General advice would be great.

carquotes.sinfree.net - check this one. As I remember they have lowest car insurance rates for teens and young drivers.

I have heard that eBike offer a car and bike policy at but I'm not sure what the terms and conditions are. Otherwise it might be worth trying a specialist motor insurance broker – you can find a database of brokers at or try this directory which has some of the main providers.

I heard a few people saying the campsite simply wasn’t secure in the harvester pub on the saturday night, also noticed several trade stands had staff on plinths to watch over their stock. It’s sad that Britain has full prisons – we obviously need to build some more.

There are several insurance companies who offer a "6-wheel" policy. You'll have to phone around to find them, though (use the list of insurers in the back of any copy of the Motorcycle News).

Very few will allow you to transfer NCB between car and bike, though.
